Organized in collaboration with the CRA-MAC (Research Unit for maize-colture) of Bergamo, the IX Congress of the Italian Association of Cereal Science and Technology (AISTEC) was held in Bergamo at the Conference Hall, of the Cloister of St. Augustine. The conference – titled ‘A World of Cereals – Potential and Challenges’; took place from the 12th to 14th of June 2013. As well as highlighting present state of the art technological advancements, the future challenges of Italian research were discussed. The participants, more than 110, were experts in the cereals sector, researchers and manufacturers of equipment and scientific instruments in the field of cereal quality.
